GC Police Department Institutes Bike Patrol Program
Garden City Police Commissioner Ernest Cipullo announced that on June 24 the department instituted a bike patrol program. To kick the program off, Commissioner Cipullo introduced Police Officer Steve Roumeliotis as the department's new bicycle patrol officer. Officer Roumeliotis can be seen patrolling on his bicycle in the Seventh Street/Franklin Avenue shopping and business districts. Officer Roumeliotis completed a rigorous 40-hour bicycle patrol certification course.

Recreation Department News
The recreation department will be sponsoring a trip to Splish Splash Water Park in Riverhead. This trip, for all middle and high school students who are residents of the village, will be held Tuesday, July 13. Buses will depart from the parking lot at St. Paul's School (by Cluett Hall) at 9 a.m. and will return there at approximately 5 p.m. Playground and recreation staff will provide supervision for the trip. The cost is $21 per person. To register, please bring cash - no checks accepted - to the recreation office in village hall by Monday, July 12. For further information, call 465-4075.
