The third grade Lady Rams withstood a furious comeback attempt by host Lynbrook and held on for a 9-7 victory this past Sunday.

The Lady Rams, led by coaches Shannon, Jahelka and Coleman, jumped out to a 5-2 halftime lead and then saw Lynbrook knot the score at 7-7 early in the fourth quarter, before the Lady Rams rallied twice late in the fourth to notch their fifth consecutive victory.

The Lady Rams were led in scoring by Mary Glenn (four goals) and also received single goals from Taylor Pappas, Erin Vierengel, Jacqueline Jahelka, Olivia Zimmer and Marie Cristoforo. The goal scorers were set up by the strong midfield play of Carley Knowles, Haley Shannon, Krista Dampman, Louisa Boliver and Charlotte Castranova. The Lady Rams also controlled the groundball play with particularly strong efforts by Lauren Coleman, Caleigh McGoldrick and Emily Betts.

Goaltenders Olivia Zimmer and Erin Vierengel were supported by the key defensive efforts of Kelly Kubler, Meredith Johnson, Caroline DelBello and Lara Haran.

The Lady Rams, now 5-1-1, welcomed back Kathryn McDougal when they traveled to West Islip June 13 for the season finale.
