The third grade Lady Rams held off previously undefeated Massapequa, notching an 11-8 victory this past Sunday at St. Pauls. Coaches Shannon, Jahelka and Coleman saw their team jump out to a 7-4 halftime lead, and then hold off a very competitive Massapequa squad.

The Lady Rams offensive explosion featured hat tricks by Mary Glenn and Carley Knowles, two goals by Jacqueline Jahelka and solo goals by Haley Shannon, Krista Dampman, and Kathryn McDougal. The goal scorers were assisted by the strong groundball play of Marie Cristoforo, Taylor Pappas, Lauren Coleman and Kelly Kubler.

Goalie Olivia Zimmer preserved the early lead by recording 10 saves, including four key stops in the final quarter. Olivia was supported by the strong defensive efforts of Louisa Boliver, Caleigh McGoldrick, Erin Vierengel, Meredith Johnson, Caroline DelBello, Lara Haran, Emily Betts and Charlotte Castranova.

The Lady Rams, now 4-1-1, return to action June 6 when they travel to Lynbrook for a noon match-up.
