I want to extend my extreme gratitude and thanks to my students and their parents who supported me and endorsed my style of teaching. You are the only ones who got me through a very difficult and emotional year.
Although I was forced to face a very untimely end to a long and passionate career, you are the ones who continue to inspire me to promote young people and convince them that they are valuable, they always count and should be heard, and they are the best part of our journey through life.
Youth is momentary and such an incredible resource to tap into. I will stay forever young in my thinking and the students of the world teach me how to laugh, how to see the world through fresh eyes when life can become stale and mundane and they always offer hope for a better tomorrow.
I loved my time at Garden City High School with these students and together we accomplished meaningful things that will stay with me forever. I appreciate teenagers and their individuality and I wish more adults would listen to them instead of blindly imposing their arrogance of what is right and wrong on them with deaf ears and blind eyes.
Dr. Leitman is the only one, who in my 30 years of my profession, has had objection to me and my personality. "You can't please all of the people all of the time" so I am prepared to move on after I heal and hopefully positively influence those who enter my new phase of life.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
