Some say the plight of seniors in Garden City is discouraging. One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, suggests the powers that be pay more attention to building housing for its elderly population rather than worrying about more baseball fields in the village. The recreation department will begin accepting applications for the upcoming Men's Over 35 softball league on accepting from teams meeting the following eligibility requirements: team must be comprised of Garden City residents and all players must be over 35 years of age or turning 35 during the course of the season.
