Police report that a Farmingdale woman, while walking northbound on Franklin Avenue at approximately noon Feb. 17, was first thrown against a wall and later to the ground near Seventh Street when she refused to give her pocketbook to a male subject attempting to rob her. FULL STORY

Miss Jenny Griesmeyer and Mrs. Linda Mulrooney were each recently awarded separate mini-grants from the Nassau TRACT Teacher Center. Their projects are planned to begin during this winter and will culminate in late spring.
