Concetta (Kate) Nicosia, of Garden City, died on Jan. 7, 2004. She was a teacher in the Deer Park Public Schools for many years. Sister of John. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Garden City. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne's RC Church.
Thelma Irene Hult, 91, formerly of East Hampton, Garden City and Satellite Beach, FL, died on Jan. 10, 2004 at the Eden Park Nursing Home, Brattleboro, VT, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 18, 1912 in Thompsontown, PA, the daughter of Herbert and Edith (Kirstetter) Arnold.
She studied nursing at Danville State Hospital in Pennsylvania and graduated with a nursing degree from Fordham University Hospital, NYC, where she later worked as a registered nurse. She also served as a nurse at Hempstead General Hospital and Mercy Hospital.
Mrs. Hult was a Girl Scout leader in Florham Park, NJ. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Home Bureau, both in Garden City. She taught Sunday School at Brooklake Chapel and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Florham Park.
She married Andrew G. Hult on Feb. 25, 1939. He predeceased her in 1990. In the summer, she and her husband worshipped at the Springs Community Presbyterian Church in East Hampton. She loved gardening and singing and handicrafts. She loved the water, both fresh and salt.
She is survived by her son, Andrew L. Hult of Garden City; daughter, Kathryn A. Hult of Bellows Falls; two sisters, Arlene Armor of Tennessee, and Marjorie Nool of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, David, Christopher and Allison; and great-grandchildren, Justin, Kyle and Maya. She was predeceased by brothers, Merlin and Donald Arnold and her sister, Gladys Blue.
