Megan Rose led the Garden City field hockey team to their 10th straight Nassau County title. Athletically, she has since garnered the National Field Hockey Coaches Association 2003 All-Region Team Award and All-State Honors.
In November, she was awarded the News 12-Citibank Scholar Athlete of the Week Award. She was filmed for News 12 and presented one of only 30 awards chosen from all athletes on Long Island.
This award is presented to an athlete who combines high academic standings, a high level of athletic ability and is involved in school and community activities. All 30 weekly winners attend a dinner in June where they are honored and have the possibility of winning additional scholarships.
As a perfect pre-holiday gift, Rose received word that she was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania where she will play field hockey and attend the Wharton Business School.
