Nassau County Republican legislators approved two pieces of legislation that will provide county property tax relief for senior citizens and people living with disabilities. These exemptions are limited to those residents who lived on a fixed income that is described in the legislation. The legislation raises the income levels by approximately $2,500, therefore those people who qualified for last year's exemptions need to examine the new levels to determine if they qualify for a higher exemption.
"Each year we provide assistance to seniors and the disabled living in Nassau County," Legislator Vincent Muscarella said. "We want these people to continue to live in and contribute to their communities." Those with questions regarding their eligibility should contact Muscarella's office at 571-6208.
