The Garden City Chamber of Commerce announces the launch of its official website, www.gardencitychamber.org. The site was created as part of the Chamber's ongoing efforts to promote Garden City's businesses and provide an interactive resource for businesses and residents alike.
The site, created by Harrison Leifer DiMarco of Rockville Centre, highlights Garden City's role as the financial, legal and governmental hub of Nassau County and a highly desirable community for businesses and families to grow and prosper. Featuring the tagline "Where Businesses and Families Grow," the site offers visitors the opportunity to explore Garden City's extensive business opportunities, resources and amenities, and an array of governmental and professional offices, local organizations and community events.
Jerry Unger, owner of Printing X-Press on Franklin Avenue and recently elected Chamber president, is a driving force behind the Chamber's numerous new initiatives, including the creation of the website.
"Our new website is an important next step in reinforcing Garden City as a dynamic location for businesses, professionals and families to thrive. It adds support to village organizations and encourages potential business owners to experience Garden City's professional district and wealth of opportunity," Unger said.
Althea Robinson, Chamber executive director, added, "The Chamber's efforts continue to focus on showcasing Garden City for what it is - an outstanding location for businesses and families to settle, remain and flourish. There is a symmetry that exists in Garden City that is unique to Nassau County and Long Island."
Robinson continued, "In contrast with some of the more sterile professional parks, Garden City has a diverse group of businesses and organizations that co-exist with the residential community in a historical setting. Prestigious department stores and retailers, fine restaurants, gourmet markets, a state-of-the-art fitness center and various other exceptional businesses harmoniously occupy locations along Garden City's tree-lined streets."
Russell Matthews, vice president and board member of the Chamber of Commerce, played a part in recruiting Harrison Leifer DiMarco to create the site. "The Chamber's goal was to create a message that is consistent with its mission to support local businesses, drive potential business to Garden City and serve as an interactive forum for residents that appropriately reflect our organization's values." Matthews, a member of the village's Business Planning Coalition since 1995, is also executive vice president of the Albanese Organization, a Garden City-based real estate development company.
