On Nov. 1, the Garden City Middle School boys and girls cross-country teams took the Nassau County championship by defeating many schools from Nassau County in the cross-country carnival. The cross-country carnival is the biggest meet of the season, where each team competes against all of the other school teams within the county.

Mr. Leake coached the girl's team, which includes runners Kathryn Roulett, Elizabeth Ryan, Elizabeth Gurskis, Elizabeth Slattery, Andrea Delgado, Lauren Schroeder, Rachel Gellerman, Laura Martens and Emily Woehr.

Mr. Lucas coached the boy's team, which includes the top five runners, Bernard Moore, Matthew Ostermann, Vincent Chiado, Timothy Logan and Mark LoGalbo.

This was the final meet of the season that this undefeated team has run in. This was a great accomplishment and all that participated should be very proud. Great running by everyone and a good job in the carnival and throughout the season for all the team.
