Irvin E. Fry, formerly of Garden City, died on Nov. 4, 2003. He was active with his college, Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA. Husband of Muriel Ann. Father of Ken Fry (Diana). Grandfather of Christopher, Harrison, William, Kendahl and Kenneth II. Brother of Kay Hallowell (Ben). He was predeceased by his brother Harry Fry. Mr. Fry was cremated. John G. van Gelder, 96, of Garden City South, died on Nov. 8, 2003. He served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam, retiring as captain in the Merchant Marine. He was past commander of the VFW and a member of the Masons. Husband of the late Frieda. Father of John (Skip) and his wife, Erin, Gerritt, Ashley and Alexis. Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
