Four Hour Forum Exhausts Topic and Residents
Garden City residents offered mixed emotions about the fate of St. Paul's during a public forum last Thursday evening at the middle school. Residents who spoke appeared split between demolishing the former school to permanently eradicate a problem that's plagued the village for 10 years and preserving the historic gem at all costs, even if it means increased taxes.

Falling Tree Collides With Two Vehicles
The Garden City Fire and Police Departments responded to a motor vehicle accident Nov. 13 at 9:19 p.m. Due to the ongoing windstorm, a falling tree struck two automobiles travelling on Clinton Road, near Kingsbury Road. A family, which was able to self evacuate, occupied the minivan pictured while a female driver, who was transported to Winthrop Hospital, occupied the sedan. The Department of Public Works' Tree Department was also on the scene to assist with chainsaws and a crew; fire officials stood by during tree removal and used a booster to clear debris from the roadway.

Recreation Program This Month at Middle School
This month, Garden City Middle School is hosting a recreation program every Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. The program, which will continue through February 2004, will include movies, basketball/volleyball tournaments, ping-pong, chess, checkers, Uno electronic basketball and nok-hockey. The program is free and open to all students attending Garden City Middle School.

TMA Football Classic November 29
The Men's Association of Garden City is presently accepting applications for the 2003 Father and Son Football Classic. This is the seventh annual tournament in Garden City and this year is encompassing brackets from the third to twelfth grades. The tournament will be held Saturday, Nov. 29 at St. Paul's from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The entry fee is $30 per adult and $15 per child, payable on game day.
