The recreation department is sponsoring open soccer time for village residents who are high school graduates or older. The program, which began Saturday, Sept. 20, will be open each Saturday on St. Paul's Field #2C from 9 to 11 a.m., weather permitting. Games will be strictly pick up and shin guards should be worn. For further information, call the recreation department at 465-4075. There are still openings available in the recreation department's preschool arts and crafts program, which begins at Cluett Hall. Children aged 3.5 to 5 years who are village residents can enjoy making simple projects under the supervision of Grace Chianese. Classes are being held on Mondays at 12:15 p.m., Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. or Thursdays at 10:45 a.m. Each session will run for eight weeks; each class is 45 minutes long. The cost of this program is $40. For more information or to register, visit the recreation department in village hall. Below you will find a list of classes offered this year by the Garden City Recreation Department's Dance Conservatory. This program is open to children aged 4 and up who are residents of the village. Note: Children attending the preschool dance program must be 4 years old by the start of the class in order to register. Registration is by mail or walk-in registration, which began Thursday, Sept. 18. Classes began Sept. 21.

To Register: Pick up a registration form at the recreation department's village hall office or Cluett Hall or make your own form by listing your child's name, address, birth date, phone number, grade and a first and second choice of classes. All ages and grade requirements will be strictly enforced. Mail all forms and full payment to the Recreation Department at 351 Stewart Avenue. Please make checks payable to the Inc. Village of Garden City.
