Marcelle Amy Faulkner, of Garden City, passed away on Aug. 22, 2003. A 1944 graduate of Garden City High School, Marcelle was a lifetime resident of Garden City. She was the beloved wife of the late David Clarkson Faulkner and loving mother of Amy Gensel, JoAnn Thomas, David C. Faulkner and Carol Callahan. Grandmother of Justin, Erin, Wesley, Stephen, Catalina, Christopher, William, Grant, Jennifer, Ryan and Blake. She was predeceased by her grandson Matthew Thomas. Dear sister of Eleanor Foxen and Elizabeth DeTar. She was retired from Barnes and Noble booksellers where she was an invaluable employee for more than 25 years. Marcelle was truly a beautiful person who will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph's Church. Interment was in Holy Rood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Fairchild and Sons, Garden City. Carmela Ann Ditroia, of Garden City, formerly of Hicksville, died on Sept. 11, 2003. Wife of Fred. Mother of Frederick and Janet and the late Dr. Daniel J. and Ann. Grandmother of Michelle, Tricia, Nicole, Jonathon, Daniel and Jason. Sister of Josephine and Daniel Kerick and Ida and the late Frank Alesi, John and Marie Parisi and Gilda and Frank Gioia. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's RC Church. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park.
