Dorothy Q. McQuade, a resident of Garden City for 35 years, passed away on Aug. 19, 2003 at Brasstown Manor in Hiawassee, GA. Born in NYC on Dec. 3, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Mary and John Quirk. Her husband, Edward J. McQuade, preceded her in death.

The McQuades came to Garden City from Jackson Heights and following many wonderful years in Garden City, retired to Clearwater, FL in 1971. While in Garden City, Dorothy was active in St. Anne's Guild, the Association for the Help of Retarded Children and the Foundation for the Blind.

Surviving are her children, Edward J. McQuade of West Hampton Beach, Joan Mitchell of Murphy, NC, and Carol Dean of Stewart Manor; grandchildren, Whitney Chalou, John Brooks, Megan Lamb, E.J. McQuade, Michael Dean and Christopher Dean; and great-granddaughter, Johanna Chalou.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Largo, FL. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, St. Petersburg, FL. There will be a Memorial Mass at St. Anne's Church, Garden City, at 10 a.m. on Sept. 26. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Hospice, PO Box 494, Hiawassee, GA 30546.

John A. Lindner, of Garden City, died on Aug. 22, 2003. Husband of the late Hildegarde. Father of the late John A. Father-in-law of Maureen Lindner Pirone. Grandfather of Lauren and Kirsten. Great-grandfather of Chelsea, Noah, Faith and Avery. Brother of Lou and Joe. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Garden City. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne's RC Church. Interment St. John's Cemetery. Donations can be made to the American Lung Association. Marcelle A. Faulkner, of Garden City, died on Aug. 22, 2003. Wife of the late David C. Mother of Amy Gensel, JoAnn Thomas, David C. Faulkner and Carol Callahan. Grandmother of Justin, Erin, Wesley, Stephen, Catalina, Christopher, William, Grant, Jennifer, Ryan and Blake. She was predeceased by her grandson Matthew Thomas. Sister of Eleanor Foxen and Elizabeth DeTar. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Garden City. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
