The recreation department will be running a "Learn and Play" hockey clinic at Community Park on Friday evenings beginning Sept. 5. The program will be under the direction of Andrew Karen. The clinic will run for 10 weeks according to the following schedule:

Ages 7-9 6-7 p.m.

Ages 10-12 7-8 p.m.

Ages 13-15 8-9 p.m.

This program will begin Friday, Sept. 5 and run until Nov. 21. The cost of the clinic will be $25. Children will be expected to provide their own equipment and must wear helmets. To register, pick up a registration form in village hall or Community Park or attend an on-site registration day run by Karen this Saturday, Aug. 30 at Community Park from 12-2 p.m. For more information, call Karen at 483-2525.

The Garden City Recreation Department is pleased to announce the starting dates of this year's Arts and Crafts program for residents who are 3.5 to 5 years of age. The first eight-week session begins the week of Sept. 15 according to the following schedule:

Mondays at 12:15 p.m. Beginning Sept. 15

Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m. Beginning Sept. 17

Thursdays at 10:45 a.m. Beginning Sept. 18

All classes are 45 minutes long and are held at Cluett Hall at the St. Paul's complex. The cost of this program will be $40. Registration for this program will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m. in Cluett Hall. Note: Children attending this program must be 3.5 years old by the start of the session. Aerobics will continue during the summer months at Cluett Hall. The recreation department's summer aerobics classes will run according to the following schedule, which began June 30:

Mondays 9:00 a.m.

Mondays 6:45 p.m.

Wednesdays 8:30 a.m.

Thursdays 7:15 p.m.

Fridays 8:30 a.m.

There is no pre-registration for these classes, just show up with sneakers, a towel or a mat. The cost is $4 per class if you pay at the door or those interested can buy a 20-class pass for $60 (just $3 per class). For information, call 742-4905.
