Susan Eisenhauer Vought, longtime resident of Garden City and wife of K. Dean Vought, died on Feb. 20, 2003 at their home. The cause of death was breast cancer, which she had battled for nearly seven years.

Mrs. Vought was born on Sept. 8, 1939 to Phillip J. and Joann Eisenhauer of Rockville Centre. She attended schools in Rockville Centre and graduated from the Lenox Hill School of Nursing in 1959.

Mrs. Vought was married to her husband in 1960 while practicing and teaching nursing at Lenox Hill. They moved to Garden City in 1964. She attended Adelphi University and after their children were manageable, Yeshiva University from which she graduated as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She practiced pediatrics at the Community Heath Program in New Hyde Park until her illness forced her retirement in 1996.

Her father, Mr. Eisenhauer, was in the dental supply business and was active in Rockville Centre politics, serving as police commissioner and deputy mayor in the 1950s. Mrs. Eisenhauer was a fashion designer.

She is survived by her husband and her twin sister, Sandra E. Flatow of Guilford, CT, and her brother Dr. Andrew Eisenhauer of Lexington, MA. She is also survived by her five daughters, Laurie Gallagher of Pittsfield, MA, Victoria King of Manhattan, Melinda Vought Chianese of Garden City, Amanda Abrahm of Atlanta, GA and Alexandra Bohn of Manhattan; and eight grandchildren.

Dorothy Conrad, of Garden City, died on Feb. 20, 2003. Wife of the late Fred Conrad and Joseph Bernsley. Mother of Wayne Conrad, Lenore Yale, Mark Bernsley and Joseph Bernsley. Grandmother of eight. Sister of Olga Napolitano, Esther DeRosa and Ralph Napolitano. Arrangements were made by the Fairchild Chapel, Garden City. Interment Pinelawn Memorial Park.
