Estates POA Vacancy Committee Seeks Candidates for Board of Commissioners of Cultural and Recreational Affairs

The Estates Property Owners' Association Vacancy Committee is seeking candidates for the Estates section representative on the Board of Commissioners of Cultural and Recreational Affairs, Thomas O'Rourke, committee chairperson, said.

The position is open to all residents of the Estates section and has a four-year term. The Board of Commissioners of Cultural and Recreational Affairs provides the Garden City village board with direction on both recreational and cultural programs in the village.

All residents interested in applying for the Estates section representative should send a resume to O'Rourke at 39 Brixton Road, e-mail him at torourke97@aol.com or contact him by phone at 741-3097. The deadline for applications is March 6, 2003.

Bill Pacula, chairperson of the Estates five-member Nominating Committee, announced that the committee is seeking candidates for key positions in the Estates section of the village.

First, new members of the Estates 15-person Nominating Committee are needed. These positions are open to all residents residing in the Estates section of the village. The position has a one-year term. The committee will be responsible for finding, interviewing and nominating candidates from the Estates section for both village trustee and school board trustee in 2003. The committee meets between September and November.

Second, positions as director of the Estates Property Owners Association (POA) are available. These positions are open to all residents residing in the Estates section; no prior involvement with the association is required. The position has a three-year term. The directors serve as committee chairs for the Estates POA to answer resident questions and keep residents up-to-date on such things as traffic issues, environmental issues, appearance and village code issues and other issues or concerns facing the Village of Garden City and specifically, the Estates section of the village.
