Former St. Paul's Teacher Gets Nostalgic
Although he wasn't raised in Garden City and doesn't live in the village today, Bill Shillalies and his family made memories in the village when he taught at the former St. Paul's boys' school for almost 15 years and lived in one of the cottages that still remain on the property. Shillalies, who began teaching in 1979, continued through until 1994. He now resides in East Meadow with his wife and 13-year-old son, Max.

Central Business Partners Withdraw Services
The village board received a letter from Central Business Partners (CBP) Principals Dan Pisark and Lloyd Zuckerberg, consultants trustees retained for the possible establishment of a business improvement district (BID) in Garden City. In part, it stated they're no longer in a position to provide the village with this service because both have become involved in other projects that now "preclude" them from having the time to offer ongoing services for this assignment.

John Adamo has been named a Long Island News 12-Citibank Scholar Athlete. News 12 aired a videotape of Adamo's academic and athletic accomplishments Nov. 26. This prestigious award is presented to students for all-around achievement in scholarship, athletics, leadership and school service. Adamo was on the gold medal Empire State lacrosse team last summer and will be a five-year starter in lacrosse this spring. He completed a very successful soccer season this fall as well. Further, he is a semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship program.

Recreation Department News
The recreation department's winter after school program has begun. The field house at St. Paul's is now open for children who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City according to the following schedule:
