On behalf of the Garden City Bird Sanctuary, Robert Alvey of Garden City, sanctuary president since its inception, requested the village permanently waive water fees at the site. He cited several reasons, including the fact that water is used sparingly, but as needed, during dry conditions. Alvey called on trustees at the last village board meeting but received a letter of denial from the village shortly thereafter. FULL STORY

This Sunday, Dec. 8 at Garden City's 48th annual tree lighting ceremony at the Village Gazebo, Santa will arrive on a Garden City fire truck "sleigh" to assist Mayor Robert Lewis in the lighting of the village trees. Festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. FULL STORY

The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club is now accepting applications for its spring program. This program is open to all girls in grades pre-K through 12 and boys in pre-K through 6.
