'Waive Water Fees at Garden City Bird Sanctuary'
On behalf of the Garden City Bird Sanctuary, Robert Alvey of Garden City, sanctuary president since its inception, requested the village permanently waive water fees at the site. He cited several reasons, including the fact that water is used sparingly, but as needed, during dry conditions. Alvey called on trustees at the last village board meeting but received a letter of denial from the village shortly thereafter.

'Tis the Season in Garden City
This Sunday, Dec. 8 at Garden City's 48th annual tree lighting ceremony at the Village Gazebo, Santa will arrive on a Garden City fire truck "sleigh" to assist Mayor Robert Lewis in the lighting of the village trees. Festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.

Centennial Soccer News
The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club is now accepting applications for its spring program. This program is open to all girls in grades pre-K through 12 and boys in pre-K through 6. The pre-K program is open to any child who will be attending kindergarten next fall. Registration forms can be picked up at St. Paul's or the recreation department in village hall.
