On a miserable rainy day the Garden City Trojans remained undefeated by beating the Sewanhaka Indians. Led by the league leading defense and the running of backs Dan Oppedisano and Matt Ganas. Garden City rolled to their fourth straight victory. Oppedisano rushed for 54 yards on 7 carries and 3 touchdowns while Ganas had 70 yards on 8 carries and 2 touchdowns. The Garden City defense forced 5 Sewanhaka fumbles and had one pass interception. The Trojans defense held the Indians to 3 first downs and 38 yards total offense.

Garden City opened the scoring by establishing a strong running game behind the offensive line blocking of Ryan Welch, Justin Bolebruch and Greg Pando and the running of Oppedisano, Ganas and Conor O'Brien. Oppedisano ran the ball in from the 1-yard line to give Garden City a 6-0 lead. After an exchange of fumbles Garden City defensive back Ben Kinsberg made a key interception which led the second Garden City score by Oppedisano on an 8-yard run. Garden City made the two-point conversion and the Trojans led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter started with the Garden City defense led by Dennis Hannan, Pat Gibbons and Brendan Flanagan completely stopping the Sewanhaka offense. When Garden City took over the ball they scored on a 45-yard run by Ganas. Next defensive tackle Pat Zirpoli recovered a fumble to set up a 32-yard touchdown run by Oppedisano. Garden City finished the scoring in the first half on a 4-yard touchdown run by sophomore Terence Hartigan. The score at the half was Garden City 34 Sewanhaka 0.

In the third quarter Ganas scored his second touchdown on a 3-yard run and junior Oliver Schenkel finished out the Trojans scoring on a nice 21-yard touchdown run. In the second half linebacker Ryan Pomponio was responsible for recovering two Sewanhaka fumbles. The stingy Garden City defense has allowed only 13 points in its first four games.
