In the first game of the week the boys' varsity soccer team played Hicksville. The final score was Garden City 2, Hicksville 1. The Trojans kept their opponents busy as Vissichelli, Hicksville's goalie, saved six goals total. Garden City's offense was strong and determined and their defense was trying to block everything, with the help of Chris Torino who had a total of three saves in goal for the Trojans. Garden City's offense was key, as they took a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes of the second half.

Next, the Trojans took on Plainview. Kevin Janeczko, a senior on the Garden City team, had his first career hat trick. Janeczko assisted the Trojans in their victory as he scored all of their three goals. Garden City's defense was aggressive, not letting any goals scored for Plainview JFK. The Trojans had a great victory as the final score was Garden City 3, Plainview JFK 0.

Led by a strong running attack that amassed 237 yards, the Garden City Trojans overwhelmed the Port Washington Vikings by a score of 35-0. Garden City opened the scoring with a 57-yard drive with most of the yardage being piled up by Dan Oppedisano, Conor O'Brien and Brendan Flanagan.

Oppedisano finished off the drive with a 4-yard touchdown run. The Garden City defense, that was strong all day, held Port Washington, led by Paul Duffy and Dennis Hannan. Following a Port Washington punt, Garden City again drove the ball on the ground 51 yards on six plays with Conor O'Brien going in on a 26-yard option play for the touchdown. At this point the Garden City offensive line, led by captains Mark Haase and Greg Pando, was dominating the line of scrimmage. The Trojans ended the first half scoring on a drive that combined the passing of Brad Griggs to Ben Kinsberg and the running of Dan Oppedisano and Brendan Flanagan, with Flanagan going in for a 1-yard touchdown run. The score at the half was Garden City 21, Port Washington 0.

With 3:29 left in the third quarter Mike Munnelly scored on a 2-yard run. Once again the Garden City offensive line dominated the line of scrimmage and some fine running by senior tailback Matt Ganas, set up the Munnelly touchdown. The Garden City defense finished out the scoring for the day when linebacker Matt McCaffrey recovered a Port Washington fumble in the end zone to make the final score Garden City 35, Port Washington 0.
