One Year Later...A Community Remembers Sept. 11 2001
As the one-year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks approaches, local church and community organizations are planning memorials in remembrance of the day's tragic events. To remember those fallen, the following memorial services and/or events will take place in the Garden City, Stewart Manor communities:

Village Board, Cathedral Nursery School Enter Into Agreement
Last week, village trustees voted in favor of entering into agreement with Cathedral Nursery School to temporarily lease the cottages on the St. Paul's property. For quite some time, the nursery school has been looking for a temporary place to serve its students until it either finds a new location by way of building or renting on a permanent basis.

Centennial Soccer News
The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club's fall program will begin on Saturday, Sept. 14. The Centennials are still accepting applications for the fall 2002 girls intramural soccer program. This program is open to all girls in grades K-12. Registration forms can be picked up at St. Paul's or the recreation department in village hall. The Garden City Community Park Tennis Facility will be closed starting Monday, Sept. 9 in order to get the courts ready for the contract season. The facility will reopen on Sunday, Sept. 22. All seasonal contracts will begin that week.
