More than 35 residents have already joined. Some are former village trustees, some former members of the 1997 Business Planning Coalition, others are former directors and officers of the various Property Owners Associations (POAs) and some even former mayors.

Board of Appeals to Hear Private Parking Lot Proposal
The village's Board of Appeals will hear Garden City Center Associates' application to construct and maintain a parking lot for 56 vehicles at 116 Eleventh Street at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 in village hall. Garden City Center Associates, care of the Albanese Organization, propose that the property be converted from its current residential use into a private lot to serve the commercial community along the west side of Franklin Avenue between Tenth and Eleventh Streets. The proposed lot would also allow access to Village Parking Field 10.

Centennial Soccer News
The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club is now accepting applications for the fall 2002 girls intramural soccer program. This program is open to all girls in grades kindergarten through 12. Registration forms can be picked up at St. Paul's or the recreation department in village hall. The Centennial's website can be visited for questions or registration forms. Recreation Department News
The recreation department is pleased to give residents a preview of this year's dance program. This program is open to children aged 4 and up who are residents of the village. The department welcomes two new dance directors: Felicia Lovaglio and Jen Gigante, who have created new, innovative classes. Residents will see several new offerings and age groupings available. Registration and fees for these exciting classes will be announced in an upcoming Garden City Life.
