Flags Will Still Fly on Seventh Street
The majority of American flags that have been flown along Seventh Street during a project spanning 42 years have been damaged by exposure to the weather over a four-month period following the Sept. 11 attacks. Traditionally, the flags are flown on Seventh Street only on national holidays. However, the village and Chamber of Commerce, sponsoring organization, agreed that it would be appropriate to fly the flags for an extended period of time following the World Trade Center tragedy.

Public Hearing Slated For August 22
The Garden City Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing in the board room of village hall, located at 351 Stewart Avenue, at 8 p.m. on Aug. 22 to discuss a proposed Local Law entitled, "A Local Law Electing A Retirement Incentive Program As Authorized by Chapter 69, Laws of 2002 for Eligible Employees of the Incorporated Village of Garden City."
