St. Paul's Open Space Improvements
Since the time the Village of Garden City acquired St. Paul's School, many village organizations have come to rely on the large amount of open space at St. Paul's for their athletic programs. Unfortunately, after years of hard use, the fields, which weren't in the best shape even when acquired, are now in need of major repair and improvement.

Irace Announces Run for 4th Congressional Seat
Former Nassau Assistant District Attorney Steve Irace, a Garden City Republican, has announced his candidacy for the US Congress in the Fourth District. According to Irace, "I know I can do a better job than what's being done. My goal is nothing less than to reform the way politics are conducted in Washington now."

Randy Colahan Participates in Golf Classic
St. Francis Hospital's 28th annual golf classic took place in June at three of Long Island's premiere golf courses. Hundreds of hospital supporters enjoyed a beautiful day of golf, including Randy Colahan of Garden City. An evening reception and awards ceremony on the beach at The Creek Club followed.

Recreation Department News
On July 31 the five neighborhood playgrounds will take a trip to Citibank Stadium to watch the Long Island Ducks play the Bridgeport Bluefish. The recreation department buses will leave from the playgrounds around 5 p.m. and return after the game ends to the Garden City Pool parking lot.
