The Garden City Athletic Club (GCAC) will be holding tryouts for its travel baseball teams (the Garden City Wildcats) during July and August. Tryouts are open to children aged 8 to 10 years old who live in Garden City. Teams will be entered in the National Junior Baseball League and/or the Federation of Amateur Baseball League.

The fall season begins in early September and runs through October and will consist of one to two games per week (12 to 14 games per season). Teams will be kept together through winter practices/instruction and future spring and summer seasons and play will continue through the age of 18.

The GCAC is a not-for-profit Garden City organization that has been sponsoring travel teams in baseball, soccer and basketball since 1998. The travel baseball program participates in private baseball leagues on Long Island, AAU tournaments in the tri-state area and national tournament bids for qualifying teams. The GCAC also offers programs in lacrosse and boxing. For information regarding baseball tryouts or any other program, contact Tony Colantonio at 248-8525, via e-mail at MCDEA@aol.com or send mail to 51 Avalon Road, Garden City, NY 11530.
