The first session of swim lessons began on Tuesday, July 2 and will conclude on Friday, July 12. Lessons are held rain or shine, except if the pool is closed due to thunder or lightning. On Friday, July 5, beginning at 6 p.m., enjoy music of the 1970s as the DJ spins classic rock and disco. The snack bar will be serving its pizza special - $10 for 16" pizza and a quart of soft drink. Pizza orders must be placed ahead of time and the snack bar will begin taking orders at noon. Dance contests and prizes for best costume will be held. Admission to '70s Night Pizza Party is free to all pool members. Normal guest fees and restrictions will apply for all guests. The Garden City Pool swim teams open their seasons Saturday, July 6. The Division I team hosts the Bethpage Pool Swim team. The meet is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and Pool #2 will remain closed until the meet is over. The Division IV team will travel to Syosset for their first meet. Good luck to all.
