James Daniel Madigan, formerly of Garden City, died on May 22, 2002. He was born July 31, 1926 in Newark, NJ, the son of James D. Madigan Sr. and Elizabeth O'Neill. He was retired from USF&G as a life special agent. He was a restauranteur at the Mona Lisa in Garden City and Madigan's 110 Pub in Melville. He was a member of the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs and former chief of the Garden City Fire Dept. Husband of Gloria. Father of Stephen, Janet and Cathy. Father-in-law of Patty Yates. He was predeceased by his son Jay. Grandfather of six. Brother of Mary Elizabeth Weck. Arrangements were made by the Howard E. Williams Funeral Home, Hempstead. Memorial service at the Daughters of Wisdom Hospitality House. Interment Calverton National Cemetery. Lorraine L. Schwartz, of Garden City, died on June 5, 2002. Wife of Howard J. Mother of Lee (Arthur P.) McGurk. Grandmother of Loren Michaud and Lisa Pusey. Sister of Muriel Smith, Bernadette O'Brien and Edward J. Spears. Arrangements were made by the Cassidy Funeral Home, Mineola. Funeral Mass at Corpus Christi RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Stephen Sperry, formerly of Garden City, died on June 10, 2002. He was a fisherman. Son of Noel Seberle of Irvington, NY, and the late Paul Sperry of Garden City. Brother of Christine Sperry of NYC, Greg Sperry of Jericho and Paul Sperry Jr. of Port Washington.
