Hannon Responds to Protesters' Allegations
After Lyme Disease patients protested in front of his Westbury headquarters last month claiming he won't support a health reform bill that could potentially change the way the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC) works, Senator Kemp Hannon said Bill A11330 is solely directed toward procedures a doctor undergoes during the professional discipline process.

Village to Erect Sept. 11 Memorial
The Garden City Board of Trustees approved a motion to proceed on the erection of a village memorial for village residents lost at the World Trade Center Sept. 11. The memorial will be located on village property on Seventh Street, north of the Long Island Rail Road and will consist of a flagpole, granite benches, bronze markers, a paved walkway and landscaping for approximately $20,000.

On a gorgeous first Sunday of June at the Garden City Middle School, the Peter Coleman - Bob Jahelka - John Kufs third grade lacrosse team hosted the Bethpage Golden Eagles in the season's finale. The Rams (7-1) dominated play from start to finish in chalking a decisive 8-2 win, the team's seventh consecutive victory of the season.

Recreation Department News
The recreation dept. will run a summer tennis camp for children aged 7 years and up and who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. This camp will be held at the Community Park Tennis Facility. The sessions will run according to the following age groups: 7 and 8 years, 9 through 11 years and 12 years or older. The age of the child at the start of the session will determine which session the child may attend. This instructional program will be conducted in two-hour sessions. Each child may sign up for a maximum of two sessions. The dates, times and fees are as follows:
