GC Lax Family Pays Tribute to Ryan Kohart
The Garden City lacrosse family will pay tribute to one of its own Saturday, May 11 during a ceremony for Ryan Kohart, a victim of the Sept. 11 World Trade Center terrorist attack. Kohart's lacrosse number will be retired and presented to his family during a 10:45 a.m. commemoration to be held just before the Garden City versus Levittown Division game at the Garden City High School. The game will start at 11 a.m.

Still No Final Word on St. Paul's
Although Garden City village trustees met in executive session April 23 to discuss St. Paul's, a Gothic-like structure on Stewart Avenue that's now considered a village landmark, there's still no final word on what will become of the building.

Volleyball as a scholastic sport is no longer played only in the fall. Just as "travel" soccer exists, "club volleyball" is its equivalent. At various age groups, upper-ability club volleyball teams compete to qualify for the national championships, which are being held this year in Salt Lake City, Utah. Club teams participate in intermittent weekend tournaments throughout the East Coast.

Recreation Department News
The recreation department is happy to announce the beginning of its registration for both boys and girls lacrosse camp for children who are residents of the village. This camp will be held on the fields at St. Paul's the week of July 8-11 and July 15-18. A child can sign-up for either or both weeks. All equipment will be provided.
