School Board Defers Decision Again on Class Consolidation
Expecting the Garden City school board to finally decide on whether or not they'd approve the consolidation of property Classes 2, 3 and 4 during last Tuesday's meeting, residents still left without definitive answers. Board members opted to defer their ruling yet again until they receive confirmation from the county and state on whether or not the consolidation would affect Class 1 owners.

Adelphi Will Borrow $16M in Bonds for Slated Dorm Construction
With $16 million in bonds Adelphi University is borrowing from Hempstead's Industrial Development Agency (IDA), plans to construct a three-story dormitory on the northwest portion of its Garden City campus and convert office space in the existing Earle Hall back into 25 beds for students are under way.

Open registration for the 2002 Thunder Football (ages 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 as of Nov. 30 2002) season has begun. Deadline for open registration is May 15. Applications postmarked after May 15 will require an additional $25 to the applicable league fee and will be accepted on the condition that if no position is available in the correct division, the application will be rejected and all registration fees returned.
