The Opening Day Parade is Saturday, April 13 starting at 9 a.m. Teams should congregate in the parking field behind 1001 Franklin Avenue (Federal Express) at least 15 minutes beforehand. The parade route goes south on Hilton Avenue to Stewart Avenue and then east on Stewart Avenue to the gazebo for the throwing of the first pitch. The GCAA will be holding tryouts for a 13-year-old FABL travel team managed by John Emmert. Play will begin around Memorial Day and continue through the end of July with playoffs beginning in August. The tryout is scheduled for Sunday, April 14 at 2:30 p.m. at Community Park Field 4. Applications for youth umpires for the 8-9-year-old divisions are currently being accepted. Candidates must be 13 or over. Applications may be picked up at the recreation office, St. Paul's or can be printed from the website.
