Garden City Man Struck by Train Easter Sunday
Just after 7:30 a.m. Easter Sunday morning, March 31, a train coming into the Nassau Blvd. station struck a 65-year-old Garden City man who was originally standing on the westbound platform. According to Garden City police reports, the investigation is continuing regarding this possible suicide. The Nassau County Homicide Squad as well as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) police are also on the case.
Meghan Kenny Halloran's Spirit Lives On
Pansies were her favorite flower and Meghan Kenny Halloran's family and friends have begun a tradition of planting the richly colorful annuals in her memory since she lost her battle with breast cancer in September of 2000. She was only 31.

The Opening Day Parade is Saturday, April 13 starting at 9 a.m. Teams should congregate in the parking field behind 1001 Franklin Avenue (Federal Express) at least 15 minutes beforehand. The parade route goes south on Hilton Avenue to Stewart Avenue and then east on Stewart Avenue to the gazebo for the throwing of the first pitch.
