Senator Kemp Hannon recently presented a New York State Resolution to Ilene Corina of Wantagh for her work in support of Patient Safety Awareness Week. Corina was instrumental in the passage of Hannon's Health Information and Quality Improvement Act, which created the comprehensive physician profile system. To further the goal of patient safety and communication between doctors and patients, Corina worked with Hannon during the designated week to encourage patients to be proactive in their health care: make appointments for physicals, throw out expired medications and live healthy lifestyles by exercising and eating well.
