All Adelphi University sports events are open to the public. Indoor sporting events take place in Woodruff Hall, located off South Avenue on Adelphi's Garden City campus. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students (including non-Adelphi students), and free admission for children 12 and under. Recently, the Adelphi Panthers suffered a two-game losing streak, their only two losses of the season. On Feb. 2, Panthers' junior guard Alexis Seeley notched her 1,000th career point. Seeley becomes only the thirteenth Adelphi female player to reach the 1,000 mark in points. NYCAC playoffs begin Feb. 26. The Panthers continue to have an outstanding season. They have been ranked number 5 in NCAA Division II national rankings. NYCAC playoffs begin Feb. 26.

On Feb. 4, the NCAA released its Division II women's soccer leaders and the Adelphi University women's Panthers, ranked 25th in the final NSCAA coaches poll, appeared in three of five individual categories and in all three team categories. Adelphi, under the direction of head coach Rich Ilsley, captured the 2001 New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) title, finishing the 2001 season with a 14-2-1 overall record.

Freshman forward Josephine Coiro led Adelphi in the standings, finishing eleventh in both points per game (2.71) and goals per game (1.18). Coiro, a 2001 NYCAC first team selection, finished the season with 20 goals and six assists for 46 points, just missing the single season Adelphi record of 48 points.

Sophomore goalkeeper Andrea Fasano was 24th in goals-against average (0.93). Fasano started in 12 games for the Panthers, for 1065:00 minutes, including five shutouts.

In the team standings, Adelphi ranked fifth in scoring offense (4.00) and twelfth in winning percentage (0.853). The Panthers also placed 27th in shutouts percentage (0.47) posting eight shutouts on the season.

The Adelphi women's indoor track team earned its highest finish ever at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) with a fourth place overall finish with 47 points. The defending 2001 CTC cross-country champions placed first in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 9:53.57. It's the third consecutive time the Panthers have won this CTC event. They also won the 4x800-meter relay at both the Indoor and Outdoor 2001 Championships. Garden City residents Jaclyn Basile and Alexander Ortiz advanced to orange belt and green belt, two stripes respectively. Both karate students completed a series of extensive exams.
