Residents attended a champagne brunch at the Garden City Casino Jan. 27 to help fete Joe Kearney, executive leader of the Garden City Republican Committee. Business and community leaders, elected officials and friends turned out to honor the man whose peers on the Garden City Republican Committee named as the "Champion of the Republican Cause" in the Village of Garden City.

Apart from being executive leader, Kearney also serves as a council member of the Hempstead Town Board. He is also of counsel to the law firm Nixon Peabody, LLP, one of the largest multi-practice law firms in the United States.
