On Sunday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m., the recreation department will show the animated feature, "Atlantis, the Lost Empire" in Cluett Hall at the St. Paul's building. This movie is rated PG and runs approximately 95 minutes. There is no admission charge for this movie. Snacks and soda will be available for a nominal charge. During the February recess, the recreation department will conduct a gym program in St. Paul's field house for children who are residents of the Incorporated Village of Garden City. It is not too late to sign up for the third session of children's tennis lessons, being held at the new Community Park Tennis Facility. There are still openings at each level. Classes are slated to start the week of Feb. 24. All open classes are listed below. To register: by mail or in person immediately, we cannot be held responsible for delays in the mail. Registration forms can be picked up in the recreation office in Village Hall. In lieu of a form, submit a note with your child's name, birth date, address, phone number and grade and indicate by code your first and second choice of classes. Full payment must accompany the registration form. Make all checks payable to the "Inc. Village of Garden City." The recreation department will be offering jazz and tap classes for adults at Cluett Hall. These classes are open to adult residents of the Village of Garden City and will be taught by Felicia Lovaglia-Donohue. The lessons began the week of Jan. 20 according to the following schedule: Tap Tuesdays starting Jan 22 10:30-11:30 a.m. $78 Stretch Fridays starting Feb. 15 9:45-10:45 a.m. $54 Jazz Fridays starting Feb. 22 10:45-11:45 a.m. $66 To register: In person - come to the recreation office in Village Hall, located at 351 Stewart Avenue. Call 465-4075 for more information. A new dance class is forming for teens in fifth grade and up. The class will be an intermediate/advanced ballet class. Taught by Felicia Lovaglia-Donohue, the class will be held on Thursdays at 3:30 starting Feb. 7. All dance classes are held in Cluett Hall at the St. Paul's building.
