CPOA Renominates Miller, Monaghan
Sitting trustee Barbara K. Miller was the Central Property Owners Association's (CPOA) Nominating Committee's unanimous choice for the position of village trustee from the central section as of April 2002. She is a 22-year resident of Garden City and resides on Tenth Street with her husband, Russell Miller, an orthopedic surgeon. They have two grown children, Nadia and Randy, and a grandchild, 14-year-old Amber Miller, a ninth-grader at Garden City High School.

The 75th anniversary of the founding of Christ Episcopal Church was celebrated throughout the year 2001. Religious events highlighted the year, along with social activities that brought local parishioners and friends together in fellowship.

St. Paul's Field House is open from noon to 3:30 p.m. for Family Open Gym Time. This open time provides the opportunity for you to enjoy various gym activities with your children in an open and unstructured setting. Families can use the Recreation Department's equipment to play basketball, volleyball and other games in an indoor setting.

GC High's Daniel Valente Participated in Hockey Tourney
A record-breaking total of 1,253 runners and walkers crossed the Bethpage High School finish line at the 14th annual Ho Ho Ho Holiday Run Dec. 22. Top Garden City finisher Chris Mendolia finished in 17:27 and was the 20th finisher overall and sixth in the highly competitive 30-34 age group. Other Garden City runners successfully completing the run were Kevin Hegarty (19:47), Dan Schleyer (21:07), Aileen Quattiander (22:44), John Hegarty (23:44), James Furey (24:00), Valentino Wong (24:11), Ann Marie Murphy (25:38), Michael Ogazon (27:02), Nancy Geygan (28:03) and Ruth Pollack (35:08).
