On Saturday, Dec. 15, the Recreation Department will sponsor a holiday party for village youngsters. The party will be held in Cluett Hall beginning at 10 a.m.
The morning will begin with a performance from the National Circus Project and finish with a special visitor from the North Pole!
The cost of admission to this holiday party will be a new, wrapped gift valued at $5 and suitable for a young child. For further information, contact the Recreation Office at 465-4075.
Writing a letter to Santa? The Recreation Department will help speed up the process! A special "Santa's Mailbox" is set up in the Village Hall Lobby and village children can drop their letters in the box and expect an answer from Santa! All letters to Santa must be received by Dec. 18 to ensure a reply. Letters must contain a legible reply address, and no postage is required.
In addition to helping Santa with his letters, the Recreation Department is again conducting a candy cane contest. Children are asked to guess how many candy canes are in the jar that is displayed next to Santa's mailbox. Guesses should be written down on a slip of paper and include the child's name and phone number. They are then put in Santa's mailbox. The child whose guess is the closest without going over the amount in the jar wins the whole jar of canes! Children can drop off their guesses until Dec. 18.
