On Tuesday, Oct. 16, the Garden City varsity field hockey team had yet another successful game. Garden City defeated Cold Spring Harbor with a final score of 4-0. Brittany Barnet contributed three goals, Erin Daly one. Both of Garden City's goalies, Amie Roe and Caitlin O'Brien, had no saves due to the team's strong offense. The Trojans kept the Cold Spring Harbor goalie busy; having to save 15 shots. This game was triumphant for Barnet. In addition to scoring three goals she also had her second hat trick of the season.
Then on Thursday, the team had their second game of the week against Locust Valley. The Trojans conquered Locust Valley 3-0. The first goal was only scored with eight minutes into the game. Megan Crisafulli set up Devon Munnelly for the game's opening goal. Brittany Barnet scored later in the half giving, Garden City a two goal advantage over Locust Valley. The final goal was made with only four minutes remaining in the game. Crisafulli had her second assist of the game when Emily Miller scored for the Trojans. Once again goalie Amie Roe was left with having little to do as Garden City's offense dominated the game. In fact this game was recorded to be Roe's seventh shutout. The girls are having a magnificent season and hopefully will continue to do so.
