Another outstanding summer of entertainment has been planned for the Gazebo. On Thursday, July 26, the Recreation Department will present Billy J. Kramer, who will perform his hits Little Children, Bad to Me, and other tunes from the '60s. Concerts begin at 7:15 p.m. at the Gazebo so bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy the sounds of summer!
On Friday, July 27, the Recreation Department will sponsor a trip to Adventureland Park for children who reside in the Inc. Village of Garden City. Recreation Department staff will supervise the trip and the department's buses will provide transportation.
The trip will leave from Tullamore Park at 11 a.m. The children will enjoy three hours of unlimited rides and will depart Adventureland at 3 p.m. The bus will return to Tullamore Park around 4 p.m.
The cost of this trip is $13 per child, which includes transportation to and from the park, unlimited rides and supervision. This trip must be paid in cash only; no checks will be accepted.
Registration will be held at Tullamore Park. All permission slips and money should be turned in at the park by Thursday, July 26. No refunds will be given after this date. Call Tullamore Park at 746-9874 for more information.
The Garden City Centennials Soccer Club is accepting applications for girls' intramural soccer for the fall season. The deadline is August 1. Applications are available at Village Hall and Cluett Hall. Girls living and/or attending school in Garden City in grades K-12 are eligible. As the playoffs for the Men's spring softball league finish this week, the Recreation Department would like to thank the teams involved for a very smooth and exciting season. Congratulations to Leo's/Melkonian Associates for winning the playoffs and St. James' Lancers for second place. We also like to thank the following teams for playing in our league: Arlington Press, Avengers, Eastenders, Fire, Jameson's, Korax, McMahon's New Originals, Prudential, Thunder and Tully.
