School Officials Combat Overcrowding at Homestead School
In a move Garden City School administration feel confident will work because it has in the past, two first grade classes will be moving from Homestead School to Stratford School in Garden City to eliminate overcrowding problems. The migration is in the works, according to Superintendent Dr. Stephen Leitman and is the most educationally sound solution to keeping class size down.

Garden City Pool Events
The Garden City Pool will be holding its annual Water Carnival Night from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 28. Family fun and plenty of prizes and surprises will be featured along with a wide variety of games and activities, both in and out of the water for kids of all ages. Free face painting will be available for the kids, along with an appearance by Googles the Gator.

Recreation Department News
Another outstanding summer of entertainment has been planned for the Gazebo. On Thursday, July 19, the Recreation Department will present "Memories of Swing", a 17-piece band that will perform the best tunes of the Big Band era. Concerts begin at 7:15 p.m. at the Gazebo so bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy the sounds of summer!
