Leagues are separated into four age groups: 9/10-year-olds, 11/12-year-olds, 13/14-year-olds and 15/16-year-olds (age again is of 7/31/01). Usually two games are scheduled each weekend between Garden City and other teams from nearby towns. Deadline for open registration is Aug. 1. Applications are available at the GC Recreation Office, St. Paul's or you may print one from our web site: www.gc-aa.com/baseballapplications.htm.
The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club, Garden City Rams Lacrosse and the Garden City Athletic Association met to establish a cooperative group together with Garden City resident Dr. Joe Pando of Sports Psychology Consulting. The objective of the group is to define and communicate appropriate goals, objectives and model behavior for coaches and parents, believing that if we all strive to achieve these goals and keep youth sports in the proper perspective, it will benefit the children, coaches and parents in all programs.
