Charles Water's Karate & Fitness is a full time, professional martial arts school with classes for children, adults and teenagers. Students recently received belt promotions after successfully completing a series of extensive exams. Congratulations to the following students who reside in Garden City: Debbie Demarchena, was promoted to green belt with one stripe; Alexander Ortiz, was promoted to green belt with one stripe; and Joseph Truzzolino, was promoted to red belt with one stripe.
Father and son wiffleball tourney
The Garden City Community Fund will host its annual charity wiffleball tournament Saturday, August 4 at St. Paul's Field from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is open to all students going into ninth, tenth and eleventh grades with their dads or designated representative over the age of 35.
The entry fee is $20 per adult and $10 per child and includes lunch, tee shirt and trophies. All proceeds will benefit the Garden City Community Fund. Please bring a wiffleball bat, two wiffleballs and a white, plastic lawn chair.
RSVP with a coordinator in your respective grade group to establish brackets. Only 32 teams in each grade will be accepted so registration is on first-come, first-serve basis.
