The May 14 Garden City Board of Education meeting began with an update by Construction Manager Frank Guidice of Kreisler Borg Florman (KBF) about the construction progress at the three schools which are currently being worked on. The Breeders' Cup, championship of thoroughbred horse racing, is coming to Belmont Park on October 27 for the first time in five years. Established 17 years ago, it is held at a different track in North America each year on a rotating basis. There is limited availability for the recreation department's Preschool Activities Camp for village children who are 3.5 to 5 years old by July 20, 2001. The 1 1/2 hour program will include arts and crafts, science, nature, stories, and other activities to keep the preschool child busy and happy. FULL STORY
