Tom Humbert, a Garden City resident and well-known cabaret musician, will be performing at the Ruby Room in Roslyn Estates on Thursday, May 24.
Having appeared in dozens of theater productions and various film, television and industrials, as well as adding his voice to commercials, CD recordings, and radio jingles, Humbert brings his act closer to home next week when he presents, Love, Lunacy & Lyrics, Cabaret Magic: The Music of Tom Humbert at the Ruby Room.
Humbert has performed for Barbara and George Bush when the former president held a conference at Hofstra University and has performed at the White House for former President Bill Clinton and his wife, now New York Senator Hilary Clinton. He's sung the National Anthem at Shea Stadium and performed at Yankees and Jets games. Just over two years ago Humbert released his first CD, The Way of Life, a compilation of various types of music that was designed to appeal to everyone.
Humbert graduated from the Hartt School of Music, where he studied vocal performance. He has sung jingles for companies such as Genovese, AT&T, Mazda, 1-800-FLOWERS, and more. This talented musician has garnered praise from both The New York Times and Newsday. A. Jacobson, of Newsday, praised, "Tom Humbert's singing is wonderful and his acting is smoothly expressive as Sky."
The performance at the Ruby Room, which is located a 1 The Intervale in Roslyn Estates, will cost $60 and will feature French Butler hors d'oeuvre presentation, complete dinner and the show. Humbert will be performing songs by Bernstein, Sondheim, Wildhorn, and others.
