2001 Thunder Football Registration - If the lightning don't get you, then the thunder will! Open registration for the 2001 Thunder Football (ages 7/8, 9, 10, 11 as of 11/30/00) ends May 5. Applications postmarked after May 5 will require an additional $25 to the applicable league fee and will be accepted on the condition that if no position is available in the correct division, your application will be rejected and all registration fees returned. Applications are available at the GC Recreation Office, St. Paul's or visit GCAA Thunder Football on the Internet for more information and to obtain a printable application at http://www.gcaa.com/football.htm. Registration is also being conducted at Olympic Den in Franklin Square. Please call Tom Wright (354-8237) or Bill Manning (747-4803) with any questions.

Picture Sessions - Sessions will be held for all Major League and under teams. All sessions will be held at St. Paul's, starting at 6 p.m. The remaining session date is Friday, May 4. Each team will be assigned a specific date/time for their photographs.

Garden City Sports Consortium - The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club, Garden City Rams Lacrosse and the Garden City Athletic Association met to establish a cooperative group together with Garden City resident Dr. Joe Pando of Sport Psychology Consulting. The objective of the group is to define and communicate appropriate goals, objectives and model behavior for coaches and parents, believing that if we all strive to achieve these goals and keep youth sports in the proper perspective, it will benefit the children, coaches and parents in all our programs. Second Annual Memorial Weekend Tournament - Open to all children of Little League age 10 through 12. Applications were to have been postmarked by Monday, April 23. Team assignments and schedules will be available by May 19.

Third Annual Skills Competition - Friday, June 22, open to all players in the Central and Major Leagues. No separate registration is required.
