There were 25 members of the community who spoke at last Tuesday's Public Hearing on Benefit Assessment, with only six speaking in favor of the proposed property acquisition and one opponent even suggesting that the implementation of the plan could lead to the end of the village's Community Agreement.

Village Announces Tentative Budget
At a meeting held at village hall on March 29, the proposed 2001-02 budget was announced. The total budget of 42,316,673 reflects an increase of 2.5 percent over the 2000-01 budget. This increase will require the average homeowner to pay an additional $175 in village taxes per year.
